Tour's Itinerary
  • Day 1 Departure Day

From the international airport, located in the USA. This afternoon, we begin our journey to Europe. Meals will be served during our overnight flight.

  • Day 2 Discovering Padua and Venice

Upon arrival at Venice airport, we will meet our professional guide and proceed to our bus awaiting us for the trip to Padua to visit a city considered one of the oldest in Italy (according to local tradition, it was founded by the Trojans). We'll do the following: see the beautiful Prato della Valle as we walk towards the Basilica of Saint Anthony, which houses the Cathedral of the Saint, tomb, and relics. We'll attend mass and enjoy a guided tour of the Basilica complex. We continue to Venice/Mestre for check-in and relaxation before dinner at our hotel. Welcome to Italy!

  • Day 3 Exploring Venice

This morning we board a boat and travel through the canals to the islands of Venice. Our walking tour includes a visit to one of the glass factories for which the city is famous, the Basilica and the Plaza de San Marcos, and views of the Ducal Palace, the Bridge of Sighs, and the Rialto Bridge. This afternoon is free to enjoy people-watching from a café in the Plaza de San Marcos or to shop along the narrow streets and bustling canals. In the late afternoon, we can enjoy an optional gondola ride organized by our tour guide before dining at a local restaurant. In the evening, we return by private boat to the mainland for the night in Mestre. (Breakfast and Dinner)

  • Day 4 Exploring Pisa and Montecatini Terme

This morning we depart and travel to central Italy. No visit to Italy could be complete without experiencing the impressive sight of its famous landmarks... but the Leaning Tower of Pisa is just one of the many spectacular buildings in the "Field of Miracles" of Pisa, which also includes the Cathedral, the Baptistery, and the Cemetery. After our visit to Pisa, we continue to the spa town of Montecatini Terme, where we will spend the next two nights. Check-in at the hotel, dinner, and accommodation.

  • Day 5 Discovering Florence

Today we will drive less than an hour to reach Florence and meet the local guides to discover its heritage. We will visit the Academy, where we will see the famous work of Michelangelo, David; the Duomo and Giotto's Tower; the Gates of Paradise of the Baptistery; the open-air gallery of the Signoria Square; and the church of Santa Croce, where Michelangelo is buried. The rest of the day is ours to relax, or better yet, to get to know better this lively city where the artistic heritage of the Renaissance is part of daily life. Return to Montecatini for dinner and overnight.

  • Day 6 Exploring San Gimignano and Siena

Today we will drive approximately an hour and a half to reach San Gimignano, the most remarkable of the medieval cities of the Tuscan hills, where time seems to have stood still since the Middle Ages. We'll have some free time before continuing to Siena, where we stroll through narrow Gothic streets lined with palaces and patrician mansions. We will visit the magnificent Cathedral, as well as the birthplace of Saint Catherine of Siena. We'll celebrate Mass at San Domenico, where the relics of Saint Catherine are preserved. We continue to Assisi and its spectacular location in the heart of Umbria. Check-in at the hotel, dinner, and accommodation.

  • Day 7 Exploring Assisi

May 19 - This morning we will explore this walled city on top of a hill, which is a monument to the all-encompassing spirituality inspired by Saint Francis. We'll visit the Basilica of Santa Clara and continue to the Sanctuary of Espolizione, to pray over the tomb of the young blessed Carlo Acutis. Then, we walk to the Piazza del Commune and the Basilica of San Francisco, after which there will be free time to immerse ourselves in the unique atmosphere of this very special place. We leave Assisi in the afternoon to take a break in the valley below the city and visit the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli with its Porziuncola, the chapel given by the Benedictines to Saint Francis and his followers, which became the cradle of the Franciscan Order. Dinner and accommodation in Assisi.

  • Day 8 Basilicas of Rome

This morning we leave Assisi for Rome where, upon arrival, we meet the local guide to visit the main Basilicas of Rome. We start at San Giovanni in Laterano, the Matriz Church of Rome, and cross the street to visit the Holy Stairs. Break for lunch. The tour continues at the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore and finally at the Basilica of San Paolo Fuori le Mura, where we also celebrate Mass. At the end of the afternoon, we check into our hotel and have time to relax and have dinner.

  • Day 9 Exploring Ancient Rome and the Vatican

In the morning, we begin with the celebration of mass, then we explore the enduring legacy of the Roman Empire on foot, visiting the Baths of Caracalla, the Circus Maximus, the Palatine and Capitoline Hills, the Roman Forum, and the Colosseum. We then continue to the Vatican City, where after lunch we visit its Museums, the Sistine Chapel, the Basilica, and St. Peter's Square. Return to the hotel for dinner and rest.

  • Day 10 Papal Audience and Rome Exploration

This morning we will participate in the Papal Audience, which has been requested for our entire group. In the early afternoon, those who wish may return to the hotel on our bus. Those who prefer to explore on foot can join our tour guide to walk from St. Peter's Square, across the Tiber River to Piazza Navona and to the Trevi Fountain. The rest of the afternoon is free for personal activities and shopping. Later, we are free to return to the hotel by taxi, dinner at the hotel.

  • Day 11 Returning Home from Rome

This morning we bid 'Arrivederci' to Italy and our tour guide as we transfer to Rome airport to begin our journey back. We arrive in the United States in the early afternoon. Welcome home!
