Tour's Itinerary
-
Day 1 Departure to Europe
Departure: From your local USA international airport this evening, we begin our journey to Europe. Meals will be served during our overnight flight.
-
Day 2 Arrival in Rome
Upon arrival at Rome Airport, we will meet our professional tour manager and proceed to our waiting motorcoach for the drive to our hotel. We will arrive in Mestre with time to check in and relax before dinner at our hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
-
Day 3 Exploring Pozzuoli
Leave the hotel after breakfast and drive south (approximately 3 hours) to Pozzuoli, near Naples. After one day, the south wind blew, and we arrived the next day at Puteoli (Acts 28:13). Relax at the hotel before heading to the center of the village. Visit the seaport area and the Roman Amphitheater to get a sense of what Paul experienced once he arrived on the mainland of the “Roman Empire.” Take a break to taste authentic Neapolitan coffee or pizza before returning to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
-
Day 4 Pompeii and Return to Rome
Leave the hotel after breakfast and reach Pompeii in less than an hour. Meet a local guide for an archaeological journey through the ancient city. Buried under a layer of ashes and lava by the sudden eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 A.D., Pompeii reveals a frozen city, preserving daily life from the Imperial Age. After exploring, take a break for lunch and then drive back to Rome (approximately 3 hours). Check-in at the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
-
Day 5 Imperial Rome and Christian Heritage
The Basilica of San Clemente is not just another church in Rome—it's unique! Explore its magnificent frescoes and twelfth-century mosaics. Visit a fourth-century basilica and learn about its history as one of the first house churches where Paul preached. Continue with a walking tour of Imperial Rome, including the Colosseum (inside), Palatine Hill, and Roman Forums. If the group is interested, visit the Mamertine Prison, where St. Peter and St. Paul were held. In the afternoon, visit the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon (inside), and Navona Square. Enjoy leisure time for lunch before returning to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
-
Day 6 Vatican and St. Paul’s Martyrdom
The day tour includes the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica. In the afternoon, visit the Abbey of the Three Fountains, the site of Paul’s martyrdom, where tradition claims three fountains miraculously sprang up where his head touched the ground. Explore St. Paul Outside the Walls, a Benedictine Abbey where the bones of Paul were recently discovered. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
-
Day 7 Ancient Appian Way and Journey to Florence
Our tour of Rome continues as we drive along the Ancient Appian Way and stop to visit the Catacombs of Santa Domitilla. These Christian catacombs were used for burial and memorial services for early Christian martyrs. They were not regular worship places but served as hidden refuges during times of persecution. After visiting the catacombs, depart Rome for Florence (approximately 3 hours’ drive), with a break for lunch on the way. Check-in at the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
-
Day 8 Discovering Florence
Begin the day exploring Florence, the cradle of the Renaissance. Visit the Baptistry of St. John, Piazza della Signoria, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Giotto’s Bell Tower, and the Basilica of Santa Croce. The tour will conclude at The Accademia Gallery, where Michelangelo’s famous "David" is displayed. Enjoy leisure time in the afternoon to explore more of Florence, including the outdoor Ponte Vecchio, a medieval bridge lined with goldsmiths' shops. Dinner on your own tonight, before returning to the hotel for overnight stay.
-
Day 9 Pisa and Journey to Venice
Pisa’s historical significance dates back to the 11th century when it became one of the four main historical Marine Republics of Italy. Explore the Square of Miracles and photograph the famous Leaning Tower. Enjoy a coffee or refreshing beverage before continuing the journey to Venice. Arrive in Mestre in the late afternoon, check-in at the hotel for dinner, and overnight stay.
-
Day 10 Exploring Venice
After breakfast, transfer to central Venice by private motorboat and meet your local guide. Enjoy a tour of the magnificent Piazza San Marco and visit the Basilica of St. Mark, renowned for its Byzantine-style architecture and gold mosaics. Visit the Doge’s Palace and the famous Bridge of Sighs, where prisoners were led to their fate. Enjoy leisure time for an optional gondola ride or shopping before returning to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 11 Departure
This morning we say “Arrivederci” to Italy and to our tour manager as we transfer to the local airport to begin our journey home. Arrive in the US, carrying the memories you’ve created, which are worth a lifetime. Welcome home!
