Day 9 Spiritual Journey in Fatima
Breakfast. As in most small towns at the beginning of the century, the parish church was the center of life and faith in Fátima. It was here that the three children were baptized, and Lucy made her first confession at six years old. The kind priest who heard her confession told her to consecrate herself to the Blessed Virgin, and she immediately did so in front of the statue of Our Lady of the Rosary. The next day she received Communion for the first time. Jacinta also came here frequently to pray. Once, on the feast of the Ascension, the Blessed Virgin appeared to them and asked them to pray the rosary every day and to pray for world peace. After Mass in the Chapel of the Apparitions, we will visit the Basilica to see the site of the tombs of Francisco and Jacinta and the village where the three children lived. Continuing to Valinhos, where Our Lady appeared to the children after their release. Tonight, we participate in the Way of the Cross along the Sacred Way, the place of the first Apparition.
-
Day 10 Personal Reflection Day
Breakfast. Today is dedicated to religious activities in Fátima on your own. In the afternoon, we return to our hotel for dinner and accommodation.
-
Day 11 Discovering Porto
Breakfast. We drive north to Porto, where we visit the High Cathedral and admire the wonderful Church of San Francisco. We'll have time for lunch before visiting the winery and enjoying tasting the best wine. Porto is known as the place with the best wine.
-
Day 12 Coimbra Encounter
Breakfast. Today we drive to the university city of Coimbra to see the Convent where Saint Lucy lived most of her life and where we see the incorrupt body of Saint Isabel. We continue to Lisbon for dinner and accommodation.
-
Day 13 Going Home
